ANCHOR HAS NEW JOB, OLD NAME.(LIFE & LEISURE)

The new main co-anchor at WRGB Ch. 6 is a body-building, car-tinkering Long Island native without a college degree but with a background in talk radio.

Without seeing a newscast, the hiring of Joe Pagliarulo to replace the long-departed Brad Holbrook sounds like a good move, even if he wasn't the station's first choice. (Pagliarulo entered the selection process late.)

``I had someone else I liked, and that fell through. Then I stumbled upon Joe,'' said news director Beau Duffy.

Pagliarulo is coming from a third-place ABC affiliate in little Lansing, Mich.
