Storyteller Tom Lee tells tales, some that go back centuries. And somehow, today's children still find them engaging, with no flashy graphics or high-energy soundtrack to keep them wide-eyed all the way until "The End."
Lee, a Connecticut-based storyteller who performs worldwide, will be featured Saturday at the Festival of Books at Spencertown Academy Art Center. The festival, with offerings for adults and kids, runs Sept. 4-7 and 12-13. Saturday lineups include a storybook parade and breakfast with Clifford the Big Red Dog, children's book illustrators, a nationally acclaimed slam poet, and storytelling from Lee.
We talked with Lee about his art and how it relates to today's kids.
